In Pueblo, Colorado, Tyson Fox is a proud union construction worker, father of three, and new pet parent to two puppies. He also carries the legacy of his late mother, who lived in the same house for nearly three decades before he inherited it.
As Tyson shared:
“My name’s Tyson Fox, and I’m born and raised here in Pueblo, Colorado. I’m a union construction worker, have three kids, got two new puppies. I am a homeowner now. I inherited the house from my mother who lived here for 27 years… and then she had recently passed.”
When his mother’s health declined, Tyson knew he wanted to do something meaningful for her comfort and dignity.
“I wanted a walk-in shower to make things easier for her—help her getting in and out and be able to stay clean through her last days. So that was an important one for me.”
Tyson began the project by hiring a plumber to install the shower base and handle the plumbing. But the next step—tiling—quickly became a challenge.
“I got to a plumber, he came in, did my shower base and all the plumbing. So then I had to have a guy come in to do tile. He gave me a bid that was pretty high, uh, for something that I was gonna have to maintain and, you know, re-grout from time to time.”
As a construction worker himself, Tyson recognized the long-term hassle this would create. That’s when he started looking for alternatives that would be both affordable and easy to maintain.
Tyson turned to HomePride Bath after comparing his options. The difference was clear from the start:
“I decided to go with HomePride with a just far superior product… HomePride had great reviews all the way around where some of these others did not.”
When Mike, a HomePride design consultant, came to Tyson’s home, he made the process approachable and reassuring.
“Mike, our sales guy, was amazing—came down, he was super knowledgeable, just made me feel at home with the whole process. And every step of the way he was very reassuring and [brought] tons of samples. We walked through—it was a walkthrough the whole time and it made it really nice, ’cause I knew he was understanding what I was trying to get across to him as well as I was understanding what he was explaining to me.”
For Tyson, the choice came down to both quality and practicality. Unlike tile, HomePride’s walk-in shower gave him:
A durable system with no grout to maintain.
A design that fit his needs, from family use to dog bathing.
Transparency and guidance every step of the way.
“I decided to go with cash just because my credit is not the greatest. In fixing my home up, I feel it’s an investment for the future.”
Installation exceeded Tyson’s expectations—not only in quality but in timing.
“They took a day and a half, which was ahead of schedule. And punctuality is another big one to me. So that was, that was nice.”
The new shower has already proven to be a multi-purpose solution for Tyson’s household:
His late mother’s accessibility needs were honored.
He can enjoy a modern, comfortable bathroom.
Bathing two puppies is now much easier than wrestling with a tub.
“It will also help that I’ll be able to shower my dogs now and it [will] be a lot easier than me getting in a tub with them.”
Today, Tyson is confident he made the right choice.
“I do think the HomePride will add value to my home. When I decide to do my front bathroom, I’ll definitely go with HomePride again. And I love the shower. It’s great.”
Tyson’s journey is one many homeowners face: balancing emotional needs, financial realities, and practical decisions. At first, he was staring down an expensive, high-maintenance tile project. But with HomePride as his guide, he found a solution that gave him peace of mind, long-term value, and a bathroom he truly loves.
For Pueblo homeowners considering a remodel—whether for accessibility, convenience, or future investment—Tyson’s story is proof that you don’t have to settle. With HomePride Bath, you can get exactly what you want, without the stress.
